Interesting comment, Luiz. Because of how SaaS and digital products organically evolved from web design and graphic design, there's always this misunderstanding that a designer's scope is limited to visuals and more like "drawing". In the same way, many professionals transitioning from graphic design and focusing their effort only on that aspect probably helped reinforce this positioning within the industry. I always interpreted the role of a designer in digital products more like the role of someone who designs a dentist's chair or an oven, where the elements that surface all support the completion of a task and where all the discovery and research around it are focused on making the task completion more optimal for the intended user.
However, I can't help feeling that the problem cannot be solved only through advocacy. Or at least not a bottom-up one. This mindset can only be change if practitioners and leaders contribute in equal parts.
